July 29, 2013 Loncoche

Well bad news. They are going to operate. I think this week. Not cool.  And they are also sending my great companion away, Elder Flitton. Sad day. He was sooo good.  But Elder Moss is staying and so he will be living with me still!!! That is a big relief.

I also already know my companion which is good. His name is Elder Tovar and he is from Mexico. I like him a lot so it will be pretty fun to be with him. This last week was just trying to get the toe uninfected so they can do the surgery. But our investigators are still doing really well. Francisco and Cathy are very excited about the gospel and I am excited for them.

This week I read a talk by Brad Wilcox about God’s grace. Many members believe that God’s grace is given to us after all we can do. But in reality Christ already paid everything. We don’t need to earn our way into heaven. Christ already did that. We need to learn heaven. If we are not changed by his grace we won’t even want to be in his presence. So we have to repent and practice to get to heaven. Not to earn it. He has a book about it called the Continuous Atonement. I suggest you buy it! I want to read it when I get back.

Well that is really about it. I am doing good and kind of feeling weird and excited that I only have two transfers left!

So this week was not so great cause I had to stay inside almost the entire week. My toe does not look infected now but the inflammation will not go down. So we will see what they decide to do to me. Today I am going to the doctor again. They might have to operate on me again but this time cut a lot more skin on my toes and take off the entire nail… gross.

It gets very cold at night here. I have five blankets and three sweaters and two things full of hot water you can sleep with and a beanie and thermals and those sock slippers from Dad. Hahaha! I look soooo funny at night! (I told him that his companion should take a picture of him. He said ok.)

The good thing is that our investigators, Francisco and Cathy are really excited to be baptized. I think their baptism will be this weekend so pray for them so they can do it!

Sorry the email is lame but I do not have much to report… I love you all and I am still really happy. I’m studying a lot and learning while I wait this stupid toe business out. I hope you are all well and we will see you all three months from today.

So this week was a challenge. Our investigators are doing good but they don’t like to come to church so we are working with them in that aspect.

So my little toe is back to its overly sized red swollen state and I am returning to the doctor today. At first I didn’t want to say anything to Sister Martinez. My companion Elder Flitton, asked if I was going to tell her and I said no and he said ok. Then we went into a hospital and visited a man. We asked what had happened to him. He said, Well I hurt my toe and I was stubborn and didn’t tell anyone so it got infected and they had to cut all my toes off!! So my comp laughed and I called her. So I am worried I am going to have to sit in the house for a while again while it gets un-infected. We are actually going to try and find a wheel chair. Maybe people will let is in more out of pity, haha.

And  the mission office moved to a new location so if anyone wants to send me stuff the address is now:

Mision Chile Concepción Sur
Castellon 1063
Casilla 3560
Concepción Bio Bio
Chile

. just so you all know.

So just so you can prepare family me and Elder Moss have plans. Big plans. So plan on having another son! He is one of the best influences in my entire life. I am very grateful for him.

Anyway this week that was really all that happened so I hope that my foot heals soon!
