August 12, 2013 Loncoche

Well the surgery went really well and after the 22nd I will be good to work for my last two months. I am really happy even though I have been on my butt. They took off the whole nail and this surgeon did it really good! so I am fine and well. We are going back to Loncoche today but we have to go to Concepcion for one more check up to make sure all is well with Mr. toe. Besides that nothing has really happened. I have been reading a lot - the scriptures and also a book called The Heroes of the Restoration. It’s pretty cool. It talks about the cool people that helped besides just the prophet. It’s cool beans. Well I hope all is well and I love all of you who are reading this!!!

August 5, 2013 Loncoche

Hey ya all!

This week was good! I love my new comp and we got to work a lot this week cause tomorrow I have to go to Concepcion to get my operation and then rest there for a week so I won’t be in my sector for a long time. I will just read a lot.

This week in church something really cool happened. We have a really cool investigator named Vanessa. She loves the Book of Mormon but she has not gone to church because she has a handicapped son who has really extreme autism, I think. He is kind of aggressive sometimes and so she was scared to come to church. Well this last week we had a really good lesson explaining that all of the great prophets have had to have a trial of faith. So she said she would try it out. Well on Sunday it was raining like crazy and when that happens the Chileans do not like to leave home. But she came!! with her son, Martin and she stayed the whole sacrament and the class. Martin yelled but it did not bother anyone and she loved it! She has a baptismal date for the 24th so keep praying for her. That was the really cool experience of this week. She really showed her faith this week!! It was awesome!

July 29, 2013 Loncoche

Well bad news. They are going to operate. I think this week. Not cool.  And they are also sending my great companion away, Elder Flitton. Sad day. He was sooo good.  But Elder Moss is staying and so he will be living with me still!!! That is a big relief.

I also already know my companion which is good. His name is Elder Tovar and he is from Mexico. I like him a lot so it will be pretty fun to be with him. This last week was just trying to get the toe uninfected so they can do the surgery. But our investigators are still doing really well. Francisco and Cathy are very excited about the gospel and I am excited for them.

This week I read a talk by Brad Wilcox about God’s grace. Many members believe that God’s grace is given to us after all we can do. But in reality Christ already paid everything. We don’t need to earn our way into heaven. Christ already did that. We need to learn heaven. If we are not changed by his grace we won’t even want to be in his presence. So we have to repent and practice to get to heaven. Not to earn it. He has a book about it called the Continuous Atonement. I suggest you buy it! I want to read it when I get back.

Well that is really about it. I am doing good and kind of feeling weird and excited that I only have two transfers left!
